Position Title: Marketing Manager
Division: Head Office
Reports to: CEO
Reportees: TBC
Liaises with:
- All Head Office Departments
- All Commercial Departments
- All Retail Channels
Role Purpose:
- To optimize business profitability through the maximization of sales.
- To be the guardian of the UTC brand and of the brands UTC represents.
- To develop awareness of the UTC brand among consumers and UTC's business partners.
- To protect shareholder assets through the implementation of effective policies, procedures and operating methodologies for all marketing related activities.
Position Description:
Key Accountabilities
General
- To develop a 'sales based' Annual Marketing Plan for each element of the business in conjunction with the Sales Head of each Division.
- To monitor results of the Annual Marketing Plan, by Division, on an ongoing basis.
- To review the effectiveness of the Marketing Plan and identify the learnings from each campaign, adjusting the Annual Marketing Plan as necessary to ensure each Division achieves its budgeted sales targets.
- To act as the 'point of expertise' for Division Managers for the development and implementation of brand related marketing support.
- To develop a long-term UTC brand marketing strategy with the CEO and implement action based business plans to deliver the strategy.
- To provide reliable, accurate information regarding channel performance, developing relationships with industry organizations to benchmark market share and other relevant consumer focused feedback techniques (eg brand recall and brand equity).
- To represent the company when required at Public Relations / media events.
- To conduct any reviews or tasks requested by the CEO or BOD, provided such reviews and tasks do not compromise the independence or objectivity of the core Marketing function.
Brand Specific
- To liaise with Principal Suppliers (with Division Managers) and agree annual marketing KBTs and develop action plans to ensure delivery of targets.
- To develop and foster strong working relationships with suppliers marketing departments, targeting the positioning of 'Preferred Distributor in Gulf Region' for all accounts.
- To leverage UTC's diverse brand portfolio to maximize our negotiating strength when developing supply agreements (eg printing, media).
Retail Specific
- To develop a monthly promotional calendar focusing on relevant seasonal activities to drive category sales.
- To brief Advertising Agency to develop appropriate collaterals to support promotional plan.
- To manage distribution of collaterals to retail outlets.
- To develop an 'implementation control docket' for each promotional campaign, showing retail outlets how to execute the promotional collaterals.
- To engage with Operational Management regarding sales/ performance findings and make recommendations for improvement and monitor their implementation.
- To take feedback from Operational Management as to how campaign efficiency / effectiveness can be improved
- To support the CEO in rebranding the retail outlets to reflect future market positioning of the brand.
- To review the collaterals and POP in speciality stores, ensuring they are aligned with Brand Controls provided by brand owners and recommend improvements where applicable.
