Responsibilities
Strategic
•Gain approvals on financial and accounting policies from Group Finance and implement them across all departments
•Support annual budgeting exercise with MB department heads; monitor spends and prepare budget variance reports to highlight management attention on non-performance on budgetary targets
Operational
•Ensure integrity of financial reporting systems across all departments
•Strive to improve revenue and profits of all departments by focusing on topline growth as well as scouting for various cost saving initiatives
•Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting that is compliant to statutory regulations and is free of financial irregularities
•Prepare monthly budgets and financial statements within timelines
•Ensure that all insurance claims and related liabilities are settled in a timely and effective manner
•Oversee Accounts payable and Accounts receivables by verifying all vendor payments and manage/ follow-ups to ensure collections within due date.
•Continuously review and recommend changes to policies and procedures to exercise effective financial controls
•Interpret and analyze financial statements for meaningful comparison (trend analysis, variance analysis, bench-marking, KPIs, etc.)
•Review financial statements and ledgers, work with the team to resolve any discrepancies
•Review financial implications and payouts of incentive schemes and provide feedback on their feasibility and effectiveness
•Prepare monthly MIS reports and generate the same from CDK system.
•Assess performance of various Business Units and generate financial statements for the same
•Maintain audit trails and implement audit report recommendations issued by internal and external auditors
•Liaise with external auditors to ensure that financial results are reported on time
•Project cash flow requirements and submit to Corporate Finance.
•Perform routine activities in accordance with agreed deadlines, standards and discharge any other task assigned by superiors in a timely and effective manner
•Assist colleagues and foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration
•Contribute to the department’s development by providing timely suggestions and feedback.
People Management
•Propose staff training needs, incentives, leave and overtime to ensure departmental efficiencies
•Maintain and promote staff motivation
•Manage and handle grievances raised by subordinates in a prompt and effective manner and escalate to GM Finance as required
•Monitor performance of finance personnel on financial and non-financial parameters such as cost savings achieved, internal customer responsiveness, teamwork and technical acumen
•Appraise Finance personnel and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback
•Evaluate performance of team members and recommend for monetary and positional growth.
Duty Shift / Timings: One Shift / 8am to 5pm
