- Implement new operational strategies, processes, and measures of effectiveness to reduce pre- deliveries timelines across all support and operational divisions.
- Handle the fiscal accountability for department budget.
- Coordinate strategy, plans and requirements with buyers, and develop an effective channel management system.
- Insure that negotiated prices, payments and delivery terms with suppliers are processed as per the buyers’ agreements.
- Confirm orders with suppliers, and ensure adequate processing, authorization and validation of information/ documentation.
- Follow-up on the processing of Letter of Credits (LCs), initiation of transfers, and final settlement with the concerned from the Supply Chain and Finance.
- Review and update Imports tracking sheets, and all information regarding products, suppliers, service providers, deliveries, etc.
- Strive to optimize volume of products to prevent shortage/ stock ruptures, whilst avoiding overstock and excessive financial burden.
- Answer and follow-up on all product information requests and queries during the phase of orders’ confirmation to shipping processing.
- Monitor freight routing and shipments from point of origin to destination, and take corrective measures with suppliers/agents to expedite delivery.
- Supervise closely the receipt of goods in the central warehouse, and coordinate with warehouse for space availability.
- Coordinate with clearing agents and customs in order to maximize clearance efficiency in terms of time and quality.
- Raise claims and follow up on them with suppliers and insurance companies.
- Negotiate with old and new agents on prices and services and introduce new shipping methods.
- Adapt to rules and regulations for shipping and importing goods to the designated country.
- Negotiate with hotels and travel agencies on rates and services for internal and external customers.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
