JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:
To provide expertise and leadership for the planning, development and execution of assigned projects across the group and ensure that the projects meet predefined business requirements and are delivered on time, budget and scope. Ensures leading practices and standards and guidelines are adhered to during the life cycle of the project. Coordinate and collaborate with business lines and subsidiaries to ensure smooth execution of the projects and oversee the work of external consultants on an ongoing basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
Assist the Head of Strategic PMO in the effective achievement of functional objectives through the management of the projects, the setting of project members’ objectives, managing performance, resourcing projects, developing and motivating resources, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximise project team members and project performance.
Budgets & Plans
- Prepare and recommend project budgets.
- Monitor financial performance versus the budgets so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly.
- Identify and capitalize potential performance improvement opportunities.
Project Management
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and/or external consultants to ensure a successful execution of the assigned project(s).
- Provide advice on the design and set-up of various projects across KFH Group in consultation with the Senior Manager, Strategic Program and Project Management.
- Facilitate effective alignment and reporting on strategic projects, and ensures that execution is at all times within stated timelines, quality and budgets.
- Develop, share and ensure compliance with the project plans developed for managed projects in order to ensure that projects managed are executed profitably and yield the required results.
Monitoring & Control
- Set-up and monitor ongoing operations of assigned projects through metric reporting, analysis and identifying variances from the project plans.
- Monitor and report on project progress and budgets to SPMO Management and assigned steering committees as per the agreed timelines and reporting formats.
- Inform project team and senior management of reaching important project milestones and develop and share case studies based on project lessons learnt in order to support knowledge sharing within KFH Group.
- Oversee the work of external consultants on an ongoing basis and throughout the life cycle of the projects in order to ensure that KFH Group optimize external support and generate a high return on investment from consultancy services.
- Oversee the work performed by Project Managers in other group entities providing project assurance.
Communication Skills
- Demonstrate superior inter-personal skills, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills.
- Ensure open communication across project teams.
- Handle broad-based, often complex, communication for internal and/or external audiences.
- Promote knowledge of team’s work to gain support for ongoing and future initiatives.
Vendor selection
- As requested by the SPMO Management, assist in identifying the list of external consultants eligible to provide the relevant services and work with the Procurement department to issue RFP/tender as per KFH’s policy.
- As requested by the SPMO Management, assist in conducting technical and financial analysis of the proposals submitted by the vendors along with the relevant departments.
- Recommend external advisors for support on strategic assignments in discussion with SPMO Management and facilitate selection in line with KFH’s policy.
Continuous Improvement
- Stimulate project team members and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices.
- Align with ‘international leading practice’ for improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Recommend improvements to project management policies and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment
- Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
