POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides crane support to the Roads and Grounds Section.Exhibits superior workmanship and focuses upon a quality end product.Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all tasks are accomplished safely and with a focus upon a quality. Ensures personnel complete all tasks in accordance with the Public Works Safety Policy and K-BOSSS Environmental, Safety & Health directives. Assists Leadership with the mentoring of new-hire personnel to develop appropriate skillsets. Addresses Customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
- Responsible for inspecting the condition of the work site prior to setting up the
crane.
- Manipulates the machine to hoist position and/or transport material such as machinery,
equipment and other construction products.
- Must be aware of load limits based upon weather conditions and lift capacity.
- Responsible for performance with a “Safety First” attitude.
- Develops an effective plan for the layout,
security, and safekeeping of materials and equipment during loading, delivering, and unloading.
- Maintains a vehicle log in accordance with
applicable rules and regulations.
- Follows appropriate safety procedures when transporting equipment.
- Inspects vehicles before operation to ensure the equipment is in good working order.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles and ensures vehicles
meet all Kuwaiti and US Government safety requirements for operation on
public roadways.
- Reports vehicle defects, malfunctions, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to
the vehicles immediately to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
- Materials used include: Fuel, Lubricants, Coolant, Hydraulic Fluid, Solvents and Paint
- Equipment used includes: Truck mounted and Rough Terrain Cranes up to 250Ton capacity, Container Handlers, Fork Lifts up to 30K capacity, Various Rigging Systems and other Material Handling Equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Duties involve working outside and inside with a potential exposure to extreme temperatures. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations.PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Work may require intermittent lifting up 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for physical exposure to
extreme dust and temperature up to 130F+ degrees, chemical or biological agents.
