- The Health and safety officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
- He will ensure all exit routes; Electrical Distribution boards and Fire equipment are unobstructed at all times.
- He should identify and report any health and safety concerns inherent in the daily operations.
- Ensure of the food safety in compliance with ISO22000
- Check and inspect the staff hygiene in regular basis
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy. (E.g. Pallet Rider trucks are not operating in the aisle, VNA fork rotation is not allowed inside the aisle etc).
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management.
- He will ensure MHE are parked in designated area and ensure operators follow the procedures when parking the MHE (e.g. the forks must be fully lowered incl. its tips).
- He should conduct Pallet Racking audit and damages to be reported on a daily basis.
- He should countersign the MHE checklist and ensure checklist is filled in appropriately by the operator.
- Housekeeping Audit to be conducted in regular basis
- Review existing policies and procedures and suggest/recommend for amendment if needed
- Adhere to all the rules and regulations
- Conduct risk assessment
- Enforce preventative measures.
