- Develops and ensures to align the health information standards, policies, and process meets regulatory requirements and accrediting agency standards.
- Develops and aligns the department goals with organizations strategic initiatives. Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to assigned staff.
- Develops functional process and workflow in alignment with Health information practice standards and ensures the process and workflow designed to protect the privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
- Involves in EMR solution workgroups that works on clinical & operational process change and ensures integrating strong quality improvement principles into the process transformation.
- Works along with the EMR application team to ensure information systems policies, procedures and technologies comply Health Information standards applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitors for any unauthorized access to patient information, investigates potential breaches and noncompliance related to privacy matters and reports for Health information sanctions process
- Develops process to ensure the data collections at point of care is accurate, reliable, complete, and monitoring process are in place to improve the data quality.
- Participates in the development and tracking of Health Information Department Performance Indicators.
- Collaborates and supports Clinical coding, Clinical documentation improvement and Data management teams to establish robust clinical data collection process, analysis, and reporting.
- Design and deliver training materials to educate users about Health information practice standards and privacy and confidentiality information
