Jobs at this level are responsible for analyzing the stock levels in the stores, following up on receiving items and handling claims against suppliers. Work is done under intermittent supervision.
- Reviews incoming orders to ensure the proper parts are available when needed.
- Typically works with whole parts, not materials that are added on to manufactured product.
- Orders parts from special parts manufacturing within the company or from outside vendors.
- Maintains data to facilitate good forecasting and reasonable inventory levels.
- Communicates with manufacturing and district offices to properly plan and control inventory levels of small parts.
- Enters orders into manufacturing system.
- Serves as contact for district and or customer to determine status of order grouped by product line.
- Initiate and participate in Inventory audit process. Follows-up and closes audit findings and manage document filing.
- Independently handling all matters related field Inventory.
- Lead the execution of maintenance and housekeeping of warehouse and yards, preservation of inventory materials and equipment to ensure warehouse and yard are always in good conditions and safe and materials prevented from rust and damage.
- Reviews sales and stock levels on an item-by-item basis and raise detailed printouts for management analysis.
- Assists in forecasting the periodical demand on items.
- Ensures maintenance of stock levels by re-ordering stock when necessary – i.e. place order, receive suppliers confirmation and make firm purchase order.
- Checks and process suppliers’ claims and follow-up by prompt settlements of bills.
- Maintains all confidential matters related to costs, suppliers, prices and rebates.
- Updates MIS with suppliers’ invoices/ orders and originate part numbers for new products.
- Raises claims against suppliers/ insurance for shortages and excesses, defective and damaged goods
