Director of Infrastructure & Roads Design
To lead and direct the Infrastructure & Roads CoE for Pace and maintain oversight over related projects, to ensure adherence to client and Pace’s service quality requirements.
This leadership role assumes the overall vision responsibility of working with stakeholders within the firm to oversee the planning, strategizing and deployment of a healthy cultural and technology driven Digital Transformation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
STRATEGIC
- Support the COO in implementation of Pace’s business plans and strategies, consistent with Pace’s overall objectives and vision.
- Participate in developing and cascading goals, business plans, and budgets for the Infrastructure & Roads Design division, in accordance with the overall strategy.
OPERATIONAL
- Direct and provide leadership for the Infrastructure & Roads CoE teams.
- Work closely with Head of Section and project teams to promote Pace’s design direction, approaches, and practices, across the firm and its projects.
- Drive focus on continually improving the quality of Pace’s work, approaches utilized, and processes employed.
- Contribute to the establishment of Service Level Agreements (SLA) between the CoE and countries of operations, to govern delivery of CoE services provided.
- Act as a primary design interface with clients, and build and foster a commitment to exceptional external and internal client service. Interact with clients to confirm requirements and ensure that all design facets of projects are correctly scoped.
- Lead project resourcing and planning in conjunction with the Head of PMO, Strategic Planning & Reporting.
- Lead Infrastructure & Roads CoE teams through all project phases, including in guiding project teams, setting project design direction, and leading design critiques.
- Participate in project stage gate reviews, with the Head of Section and Project Directors / Resident Engineers.
- Monitor project performance including schedule and budget metrics, to ensure Pace’s project goals and objectives are met.
- Interface with Business Development teams in securing new work, and participate as a technical expert in client presentations.
- Participate in the development of proposals by providing technical expertise and work estimates, in line with Pace’s desired technical and financial positioning strategies.
- Recommend solutions to technical design issues to address client and project specific requirements.
- Oversee integration of technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings.
- Keep current on design trends and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary and progressive technology, materials and methods.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Set performance objectives and targets, review performance, and recommend development inputs/ interventions for personnel, directly or indirectly under his/ her charge.
- Work with HR to ensure adoption of progressive and leading practice aligned workforce practices, in order to attract, develop and retain employees in the division.
- Provide employees in the division with a work environment that is open and conducive to sustained high performance, employee engagement, learning and development, and career growth.
