1- Stays abreast of flower trends and changing customer preference.
2- Create new and exciting pieces within a budget or with limited resources.
3- Answer telephones, take orders, and converse with customers to know what they need and help translate their needs/taste/style/vision to floral designs.
4- Plan arrangements according to client's requirements, utilizing knowledge of design and properties of materials, or select appropriate standard design pattern.
5- Decorate or supervise the decoration of buildings, halls, or other facilities for parties, weddings and other occasions.
6- Determine the type of flower arrangement desired, based on the occasion, and the date, time, and location for each arrangement needed.
7- Recommend flowers and greenery for each arrangement.
8- Consider the customer’s budget when making recommendations.
9- Design floral displays that evoke a particular sentiment or style
10- Inform customers about the care, maintenance, and handling of various flowers and foliage, indoor plants, and other items.
11- Create and change in-store and window displays, designs, and looks to enhance a shop's image.
12- Conduct classes or demonstrations, or train other workers of new designs.
