• To develop an effective methodology for student counselling, and work collaboratively inside and outside the College with the purpose of improving counselling tools and processes on a permanent basis.
• To assist in the creation of policies and associated documentation related to student counselling, including self-help materials.
• Acting as a key liaison between the students seeking counselling and the relevant members of the College.
• Maintain high standards of service and work within the best ethical standards of good practice.
• To take an active role in raising awareness about the importance of student counselling, through participation in student inductions, workshops and other events.
• To develop and maintain an effective referral system, i.e. a list of situations and a network of people (academics and other professionals) that students should be referred to when such situations occur.
• To keep a system of concise and confidential records in line with the policies of the College, and manage confidentiality in a professional manner.
• To analyze the data collected and produce reports regarding access to the service, and make recommendations as appropriate.
• Work closely with Student Affairs staff, especially in conveying any relevant information about problem students.
• To provide assistance in all stages of the admissions/application process, during the student applications windows, twice a year.
• To provide assistance with the organization of school events, such as Orientation Sessions, Open Days and Graduation Ceremonies.
• Any other necessary tasks deemed suitable for the position in question.
