- The General Manager will be primarily responsible for planning, developing, and
directing all commercial activities through defining the strategic objectives and
cascading these to the business plans and ensuring flawless execution to
provide maximum profit and return on the invested capital. He will be expected
to represent the local market strategies and points of view to Management to
enrich the company’s strategies and plans. - The incumbent will also embody the local market perspective and actively
participate in helping to shape the strategic direction of the projects under
direct control, with full profit & loss responsibility.
Job Description:
- Develop Strategic Business Plan for the Division and Review jointly with the Managing Director/ Deputy Managing Director
- Establish Divisional Goals, Objectives & Targets
- Formulate Programs and Procedures to achieve the Divisional Goals & Target and hence the Strategic Business Plans
- Monitor the Division’s Business Performance and Initiate any Enhancement required in the Programs and Procedures
- Create the Annual Budget for the Division; in coordination with the Key Personnel in the Division
- Create and Maintain a Conducive Work Atmosphere to result in High-level of Employee Performance
- Plan for Employees’ Continuous Career Development and Advancement through Training, Mentoring and Coaching
- Continually build upon personal skills and knowledge
- Assign employee responsibilities and maintain job descriptions
- Review the Company Salary Administration Program and initiate action to ensure the competitive wages based on employee’s performance
- Lead the implementation of Management Systems related to Quality, Environment, and Occupational Health & Safety
- Participate in Corporate Management Review Meeting and Present the Division’s Performance (related to QMS, EMS & OHSMS) in this Management Review Meeting
- Ensure the compliance to Legal & Regulatory Rules & Regulations
- Uphold the Company Policies, Culture and Beliefs
- Establish Harmonious Business Relationship with the other Divisions in the Company
- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Generate Division Business Development Plan with a vision of Continuous Increase in Division’s Business Share in the Market
- Set Business Development Goals
- Review Business Plans and Business Development Goals with employees on regular intervals; to monitor the extent of accomplishment
- Ensure employees have the knowledge and information needed to achieve market share growth
- Monitor the Division’s Business Pre-Qualification with New Clients and in New Projects (Business Opportunities)
- Represent the company at Legislative Sessions, Business Promotion Platforms, Committee Meetings, and at various formal & informal functions
- Promote the company to local, regional, national, and international arenas
- Develop relationships with stakeholders and within the business community
- Build a positive image for the Division and Company
- OPERATIONS
- Hold regular Divisional Business review meetings
- Review Progress of various Projects/ Tasks performed by the Divisions
- Review the Divisional Cash Flow Status; in coordination with the Finance & Accounts Department
- Ensure all Clients/Customers receive courteous and efficient service from the Division
- Promptly Handle and Resolve the Business Claims, Complaints and Grievances
- Submit Monthly Reports, General Business Information, and Recommendations to Top Management
- Assist in formulating policies and provide all facts needed for Top Management decision.
- Supervise the Purchasing functions to ensure greatest value by taking advantage of all discounts
- Supervise pricing and inventory policies designed to price competitively and achieve desired gross margin
