Duties & Responsibilities:
• Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel
• Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance
• Maximize profitability and setting/meeting sales targets, including motivating staff to do so
• Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control to stay within budget
• Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise
• Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts
• Ensure the store fulfills all legal health and safety guidelines
• Provide or organize training and development
• Organize special promotions, displays and events
• deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews
• Handle the company’s team including customer service, sales and operations.
• Monitor company website
• Deal with customer queries and complaints
• Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understand forthcoming customer initiatives and monitor what competitors are doing
• Initiate changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market
