JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing all phases of mechanical design during projects, and delivering projects successfully on time, within budget, and within clients' expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Project Management
- Provide knowledge, management and oversight of mechanical design for multiple projects
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, task management; prepare/approve work programs for all projects
- Develop a manpower estimate based on the established scope of work, and manage projects to fit within the budget
- Prepare, review and assess all designs including contract drawings with shop drawings, specifications, BOQ, TOR and ensure compliance
- Prepare and maintain updated general specifications for mechanical, firefighting, plumbing, refrigeration, and HVAC works
- Visit and follow up ongoing projects in all locations as needed
- Participate in design preparation and reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations
- Submit monthly report for all projects from Mechanical side
2. Quality Assurance/HSE- Provide quality control/assurance for mechanical design documents
- Participate in the inspection and supervision of executed mechanical works.
- Prepare/apply/approve check lists for all mechanical works.
- Prepare price list for items regularly needed for projects from ME prospect.
- Participate in the evaluation of Mechanical works for projects being tendered.
- Conduct and approve Mechanical contractors list and update
- Enforce safety rules (Agility Environmental Health Safety & Security Policy) at all times and report non-compliance
- Meet financial objectives
- Promote personnel development, mentor engineering staff, and conduct employee performance evaluations
EDUCATION- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, certifications and/or higher studies is an advantage
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE- Minimum 8 years' experience in mechanical design, engineering or related field
- Design management experience
- Experience in managing a design team
SPECIFIC SKILLS- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Project management skills
- Sound knowledge of EHSS standards
- Technical report writing skills
