Job Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing the implementation of infection control policies and procedure across DHAMAN’s PHCs in collaboration with the PHC’s head nurse as well as ensuring staff compliance with the infection control procedure through inspecting PHCs and reporting any violations to the infection control practices while providing necessary education and counselling to the staff and patients as required.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Infection Control Activities
- Monitor the Infection Prevention Control program implementation throughout DHAMAN's Primary Healthcare Centers in collaboration with the PHC nursing section to ensure implementation of standard precautions such as hand hygiene and gloving policy, isolation precaution, prevention of injury by sharps and exposure to blood or body fluid.
- Oversee the implementation of isolation precautions, antisepsis, disinfection and sterilization policies throughout DHAMAN's Primary Healthcare Centers.
- Supervise the implementation of DHAMAN's Infection Control policies/procedures and in outbreak investigation within DHAMAN’s PHCs.
- Oversee PHC surveillance activities through data collection on a daily basis and through conducting field visits during various shifts.
- Monitor PHC’s staff compliance related to hazardous waste, infection control policy & procedures and environmental cleaning & disinfection.
- Ensure appropriate intervention and education with PHC administration staff and medical staff when healthcare infection outbreaks or non-compliance to infection control are identified.
- Deliver required education and counseling on infection prevention for PHC administration staff, medical staff and patients and conduct orientation program pertaining to infection control policies and procedure to new hired staff within DHAMAN’s PHC.
