Job Purpose & Scope:
Performs the day-to-day batch processing and monitoring of production systems and networks and identify/follow up on any performance failures. Follow scheduled tasks throughout the day by running the different system end-of-day processes, file extracts, reports, backups and monitoring. Provide Helpdesk support outside normal Helpdesk working hours. Job holders will also conduct basic operations and technical administration tasks necessary for the smooth running of the IT Operations area.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitors the performance of systems applications from a central IT station in order to identify any performance issues and/or faults. |
2. Schedules low impact and run high impact batch production tasks within documented procedures and guidelines, taking into account systems usage patterns, in order to complete batch runs with minimum impact on overall systems performance. |
3. Performs and maintains daily/periodic systems backups in line with work schedules in order to protect and maintain the integrity of data stored on IT systems. |
4. Receives fault messages and takes corrective action, or escalate as appropriate in order to ensure the effective resolution of problems. |
5. Runs different systems reports electronically from given listings during daily process to ensure that user and management information are available to customers in line with their requirements. |
6. Participate in the various cross-functional committees/teams for multiple purposes to achieve optimal service efficiency. |
7. Generates and escalates periodic and requested reports ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. |
8. Maintains updated knowledge of rules, regulations and standards in the field and related matters of interest to the department. |
9. Performs other duties in line with scope of work and as assigned by the direct manager. |
