- Offer advice and information to volunteers and external organizations through face-to-face, telephone and email contacts
- Interview and recruit volunteers, ensuring they are appropriately matched and trained for a position;
- Supporting the organization with the development of volunteering approaches and structures that effectively support a mutually beneficial volunteer experience
- Support the organization with generating appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organization;
- Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments
- Provide guidance, support, resources and tools to staff who manage or supervise volunteers.
- Maintain volunteer records
- Organize volunteer group time and social opportunities
- Treats all colleagues, volunteers and members of the public with dignity and work within and adhere to equal opportunities statement and polices
- Support the development and delivery of public meetings and engagement events
- To provide written reports as required
- To undertake supervision and training as appropriate
- Encourage employers in all sectors to enable their staff to volunteer
- Support the Volunteer Manager to organize, co-ordinate and promote volunteer forums.
- Work with the Marketing Team to promote volunteering, raising awareness of the project and encourage participation.
- Collate and provide case studies, feedback and information for the newsletter, website and social media. Engaging with the Marketing Administrator to produce these stories across organizations communication channels.
General Requirements:
- To undertake any other duties as prescribed by the Volunteer Manager.
- Undertake such personal training as may be required to keep up to date and fulfil the professional requirements of this role.
- To have a collaborative and flexible approach to work undertaken by organization.
