The Organization:
Our client is a large private hospital in the state of Kuwait. Their dedication towards development and growth is reflected in the ongoing expansion. Care is provided through a competent and diverse team of health care professionals in multiple departments, utilizing the latest technology and applying evidence-based practices. They are hiring an experienced Patient Educator.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Identifies learning needs of patient through recognized assessment method and sets objectives for each area where patient education is required;
• Performs individualized assessment to identify educational needs, learning style, barriers and key learner and recognize subtle cues to anticipate potential problems;
• Analyzes the assessment data, develop health education plan, set priorities, involve patient, significant others and multidisciplinary team in implementation when appropriate;
• Provides education related to the disease process, medication, pain management, medical equipment, hygienic care, diet and nutritional monitoring, infection control measures, survival skill, prevention and care of complications;
• Assesses, monitors, and implements treatment plans for patient at various stages of the disease focusing on prevention of complications and therapeutic plan, evaluate the outcome of education and modify as required;
• Provides basic life support and institute safety measures when needed;
• Reports daily occurrences and unusual incidents to the Director of Nursing on timely manner without delay;
• Performs any other task and duties within the scope of knowledge, skills and experienced as assigned by the Director of Nursing;
