MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Insurance department will be responsible for managing the day to day contractual policies and procedures regarding the company’s insurance policies.
JOB OBJECTIVES
• Plan and organize the work of the risk apatite in insurance section.
• Develop and maintain an effective framework for managing the co.’s assets and to promote, support and co-ordinate its implementation to ensure that sound risk control practice is accepted.
• Identify asses and evaluate risks to be fully prepared to deal with any potential threats.
• Design insurance program that cover potential risks.
• Ensure that the co. has adequate insurance protection for its business needs, identifying new areas of business risk as they arise and ensuring appropriate risk transfer mechanisms are in place.
• Ensure that the identification and management of business risk is embedded into the co.’s cultures and practices.
• Achieve best value in the procurement of the insurance products and services.
• Exercise best risk control practice through contact with other insurance professionals and membership of external bodies such as Insurance companies, brokers and loss adjusters and keeping up to date with trends and developments in technology, products and services, and to applying that knowledge in the management of the Co.’s risk and claims management processes.
• Providing support, awareness and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization.
• Ensure that Insurance records are maintained as per Company norms.
• Coordinate effectively with other Departments and insurers during various stages of the claim.
• Evaluate Insurers bids and determine leading potential underwriter.
• Carry on midyear changes and insure endorsement of new cover.
• Follow up on payment to insurer and indemnity receiving for claims.
