• To conduct sales and marketing strictly by telephone to promote a wide variety of products and services either via direct selling or through information gathering.
• To uphold the company’s ethics, operating policies and conform with the department work instructions.
• Contacts businesses or private individuals by telephone to solicit sales of insurance products or services.
• Explains products or services and prices, and answers questions from customers.
• Obtains customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and enters orders into computers.
• Adjusts sales scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific individuals.
• Telephones or writes letters to respond to correspondence from customers or to follow up initial sales contacts.
• Maintains records of contacts, accounts, and orders.
• Schedules appointments for sales representatives to meet with prospective customers or for customers to attend sales presentations.
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Conducts client or market surveys to obtain information about potential customers.
