Job Purpose
Responsible for guiding, directing and leading the Operations Division while ensuring the implementation of all related activities in a prompt, cost efficient and timely manner, so as to effectively manage the operations of the company. In addition to ensuring all projects are completed on-time and on-budget, communicating with clients, third-party resources and upper management for implementing the most effective project completion strategies, in line with Industrial Electrical Projects Co. Policies & Procedures.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy Formulation :
- Develop the Operation Division’s strategic objectives and KPIs in line with IEPC’s overall business Strategy and ensure that all departmental employees are working towards the achievement of these objectives.
- Review the operating results of the Division and follow-up to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct insufficient results.
Budget & Cost Control
- Develop the Operating budgets of Industrial Electrical Projects Company, and maintain approved budget to ensure all Operating activities are within the assigned budget, by setting the required targets and responsibilities
Policies & Procedures
- Develop and ensure the implementation of the Operation Divisions established policies and procedures and comply with IEPC’s other policies.
- Administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
Operations Directing Activities
- Guide, direct and lead the Operations Division while ensuring the implementation of all related activities in a prompt, cost efficient and timely manner.
- Lead and build a high performing plant management team and create a culture of high performance in order to achieve the most effective, efficient, and cost saving production cycles and processes, in line with IEPC’s Policies & Procedures.
- Assist in the management of change through continuous improvement of the operating processes and practices considering ‘leading practices’ and changes in the business environment to ensure the demands meet proactive operating plans.
- Continuously reshape department best practices to provide highest client satisfaction, in order to ensure that IEPC maintains its market share and aggressive competitive advantage within the industry.
- Oversee the continuing review and study of all product/functional and/or customer problems, process problems and customer service quality problems to achieve the highest level of service possible.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients to drive sales and new leads in order to ensure a solid cliental base for future prospecting.
- Identify patterns and problem areas, and implement effective solutions in order to increase efficiency of the IEPC’s operations.
- Work closely with Cross-Functional Departments and Teams (Finance, Quality Assurance, Sales, Strategic Procurement, Information Technology, Pre-Sales Engineering, and others) to establish and implement internal and external processes and practices, and to meet and exceed all internal and external requirements.
- Ensure resource management / equipment planning processes are properly defined, deployed and measured, in order to achieve an effective production cycle within IEPC in line with Policies & Procedures.
- Ensure all departments and divisions are implementing activities and procedures according to ISO standardizations, and promptly implement problem-solving initiatives during any deviations of the same.
- Engage external business and industry experts to learn and influence business strategies, constantly remaining alert and forward thinking about opportunities and risks in the industry.
- Establishes metrics and goals to track performance and hold people accountable for results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, productivity as well as warranty and damage/repair to materials
- Ensures that all buildings, grounds, tools and equipment are maintained and arranged to deliver safe and efficient operations, in order to achieve the highest quality of IEPC’s operating culture.
- Collaborate, communicate, and proactively work with Product Development, Engineering, Sales and Purchasing on a regular basis, to provide guidance and assess the administrative needs of their departments in order to achieve the IEPC’s operating objectives.
- Oversee and direct negotiation – in conjunction with the Finance Department - with the outsourcing companies in order to ensure that IEPC has the best services with the lowest cost.
- Perform ad-hoc and other duties related to the job as assigned by Direct Manager
Continuous Improvement
- Investigate, manage inputs and recommend action to be taken when there are weaknesses in internal controls or compliance issue with set policies and procedures.
People Management
- Work closely with the Division/Department Heads to plan and advance the people agenda, analyze manpower plans, implications of decisions and address issues to direct the priorities accordingly.
- Conduct annual employee performance appraisal of employees ensuring employee career development and motivation.
- Recommend salary adjustments, rewards and promotions based on employee performance.
- Carry out disciplinary meetings whenever deemed necessary.
- Ensure training needs of employees are identified and recommend relevant training initiatives that will assist in building a highly professional and knowledgeable workforce
- Direct the development and maintenance of management information systems as well as specialized applications at Hayat Communications.
Reports
- Generate regular and special reports for the General Manager that summarize and forecast Operational activities and financial position and escalate critical issues to provide effective recommendations in meeting the key challenges.
