- Configure, install, and manage data backups for applications and systems.
- Ensure that restore procedures are configured and tested.
- Administrating Data protector, tape libraries and D2D.
- Carry out regular checks on the status of servers, storage, and tape libraries from a hardware and software standpoint.
- Managing disk and tape to disk backups.
- Configure and maintain Backups for Windows and LINUX servers, ERP Applications and Oracle and SQL Server databases, Microsoft Exchange and other applications including virtual environments.
- Coordinates problem analysis of backups, finding the resolution related to software and hardware problems, administers security and backup procedures for servers and participates in software and hardware evaluation.
- Regular maintenance of servers, backup software through the installation of software upgrades, patches, and hardware upgrades.
- Installing & upgrading Backup servers
Identifies critical business processes and establish resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster.
- Identifies points of vulnerability and develops disaster avoidance plans.
- Implement templates for standardizing all technical backup and recovery procedures for all sites.
- Develops appropriate off site data and document repositories to be utilized if information were to be irretrievable at the IT department due to a disaster.
- Reviews and standardizes all recovery plans, including process and procedural standards to address routine, backup, redundancy and recovery architectures.
- Maintain the integrity of critical systems, applications, and data by ensuring compliance to IT security procedures and standards, and by implementing proper controls.
- Upgrades backup infrastructure and improve the backup and recovery performance using latest applicable techniques.
- Performs daily health check and maintains desired level of success rate for the backup jobs.
- Proactively keeps the environment with latest release update and perform root-cause analysis to resolve frequent failures.
- Periodically reviews the backup policies and procedures to ensure right application settings and accurate documentations.
- Perform routine backup and recovery for data protection and integrity for UNIX/LINUX servers;
- Providing HP-UX and LINUX System housekeeping and regular administration activities.
- Patch management Analyse/solve performance and security issues Complex backup.
- Scheduling Maintenance also includes help solving complex problems related to operating system, databases, middleware or applications.
- Troubleshooting the HP-UX, LINUX, Service guard technical problems and issues.
- Manage UNIX/LINUX Clustered file systems and HP Service guard clustering software.
- Install, configure, and maintain UNIX/LINUX server equipment, disk arrays, tape libraries, virtual tape libraries and terminal servers;
Perform proactive monitoring for high availability, System data protection, backup and restore, UNIX central authentication, user account management, disk storage management, hardware and OS maintenance, and application maintenance.
- Handling Service requests opened with the software vendors
