Dental Technician is skilled specialist. Able to handle all phases of work related to production of false dentures, porcelain jacket crowns, inlays’.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1 Constructs and prepare dental appliances such as: crowns, bridges and dentures.
2 Carries-out tasks such as; mixing ingredients, filling dental appliance moulds.
3 Sculpting and building forms, bending and soldering wires
4 Grinding and polishing finished work.
5 Carries-out all written instructions by the dentist using models and impressions of patient’s teeth or mouth.
6 Studies prescriptions, plans work, designs, constructs, re-works and/or adjust dental
appliances.
7 Plans and constructs porcelaine, jacket crowns, bridges inleys, and repairs
porcelaine teeth.
8 Constructs and re-works orthodentic appliances such as bands, retainers and
positioners.
12 Performs other related duties that fits to competencies when requested by the Head of
Dental.
