Job Purpose
• To support the Buying Team in all aspects of product specification, range building, buying and administration.
• To work closely with Category Manager, Senior Buyer, Buyers and Assistant Buyer to deliver a comprehensive and profitable product range to our showrooms and to ensure that deadlines are met.
• To generate regular stock and sales reports to allow for effective inventory tracking and sales forecasting in order to maximize all sales opportunities
• To be a key support in the buying team, helping to facilitate all cross functional working between HO, Showrooms, Warehouse, Group Control, OSO’s and all other service departments in order to deliver the business objectives
• Raise and process PO’s, manage administrative side of PO lifecycle including data entry approvals, financial / accounting initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Category Manager, Senior Buyer, Buyers and Assistant Buyer to ensure continuity lines target stock.
• Recognizing business issues and provide solutions.
• Create ad hoc business reports when required.
• Acting as anchor of the office when Category Manager, Buyers and Assistant Buyer
• Maintains product files, supplier files and provides accurate information to MDM.
• Liaises with international supply base to ensure that the Critical Path is met
• Checks quantities received from warehouse
• Keeps record of received goods, inventory and delivered goods
• Prepares and sorts source documents, and identifies and interprets data to be entered
• Daily and Monthly sales reporting
• Coordinates all information passing between Head Office, Warehouse, Back Store, Showrooms, Finance and Group Control
• Contacts concerned departments to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data
• Compiles reports, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered
• A working knowledge of OTB Process & reports.
• Makes frequent visits to warehouse with product team to ensure best practices are being maintained with regards goods in and QC practices
• Updates Product team on all system/process changes that may affect delivery of the Critical Path
• Visit stores weekly acquiring more knowledge and feedback from store colleagues about products and customer behaviors / requirements.
• Visiting market competitors and present findings and recommendation to Buyer/Category Manager.
• Training/ Mentoring new Buying Assistants
• Assisting Buyers in store communication, product launches, promotional activity, display changes.
