Insurance In-charge is responsible for assessing or determining liability, negotiating payments and minimizing the number of fraudulent claims. They investigate insurance claims related to automotive (Accidental claims, regular insurance, third party insurance etc.)
Typical responsibilities of the job include:
- offering advice to customers about making claims
- They should be able to manage /supervise operations within an insurance practice.
- tracking claims through to completion or settlement
- negotiating settlements with claimants or lawyers
- carrying out background research and gathering information
- writing reports and completing paperwork
- Organizing payments.
- Estimate parts and labor to repair damage, using standard automotive labor and parts-cost manuals and knowledge of automotive repair.
- Review repair-cost estimates with automobile-repair shop to secure agreement on cost of repairs.
- Prepare insurance forms to indicate repair-cost estimates and recommendations.
- Examine damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, electrical, or interior damage.
- Arrange to have damage appraised by another appraiser to resolve disagreement with shop on repair cost.
