Strategic:
- Formulate the Al-Sayer Group logistic and distribution strategic plans and budgets to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of operations.
- Identify the strategic trends in the field of logistic, warehousing and distribution and ensure implementation of best practices across the Group.
- Participate in due diligence in order to assess the inventory and distribution function implications for mergers and acquisitions and recommend solutions.
Operational:
- Compile the present and future needs of business units in terms of warehousing and distribution and plan the inventory and distribution operations accordingly in order to provide the level of service suitable to the business needs.
- Define the needs of the inventory and distribution function in terms of facilities, specific warehousing conditions by type of product, distribution infrastructure, staffing, systems, and work on acquiring and developing them.
- Develop service level agreements with internal customers and drive the inventory and distribution function in order to adhere to their terms and conditions.
- Review the inventory and distribution overall business processes and performance and develop improvement initiatives based on analyzing previous statistical data.
- Develop inventory goals in order to balance industry product delivery lead-times, inventory turn rates, internal customers and principal requirements and satisfaction.
- Develop the distribution infrastructure that supports internal customers’ business requirements, timely delivery of goods and products, and achieve cost effective distribution operations.
- Develop business processes and solutions in order to reduce obsolete and dead stock items, damaged stock items, and shortage of stock.
- Ensure that both periodic and surprise physical inventory count are conducted and that discrepancies are documented, reported and dealt with appropriately.
- Ensure full and all time adherence to health and safety procedures and standards for the function of inventory and distribution.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of new regulatory actions, such as new laws, import and export regulations, customs’ regulations, on the inventory and distribution function and ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Report periodically on the inventory and distribution function, for matters related to stock levels, stock turn rates, dead stock and damaged items, stock provisions, stock replenishment levels, distribution operations and answer business and functional heads queries.
- Maintain knowledge of developments and trends and best practices in the area of Inventory and Distribution function in order to assure they are incorporated in the future systems and standard operating procedures of the Group.
People Management:
- Prepare the manpower budget pertaining to required staffing levels, training and development, internal mobility and succession.
- Identify objectives and KPIs, review the performance and potential of staff and make/approve decisions relating to appointment and termination, promotions and salary adjustments, disciplinary action, succession planning and development plans.
- Ensure increasing levels of employee satisfaction and improve the efficiency of manpower.
- Make requisite attempts to handle all grievances raised by subordinates in a prompt and effective manner.
