JOB LOCATION : OMAN - MUSCAT
Responsibilities:
- Administering Linux Servers (Ubuntu)
- Update system version OS and application software.
- Regularly monitoring the system performance
- Performing data backup and restore.
- Applying operating system updates, and configuration changes.
- Ensure system security.
- Troubleshooting any report issues.
- System performance tuning.
- Maintain Servers high availability.
Moodle Server Administration:
- Regularly monitoring and updating Moodle
- Preparing the courses and user records in Moodle every semester.
- Add and configure Moodle features and components (from the open-source Moodle community)
- Using cronjobs and scripts to maintain Moodle
- Regularly monitoring Moodle Activities and services
- Customizing the Moodle for MEC requirements.
- Preparing and maintaining Placement Tests through Moodle
- Preparing and administering semester exams.
- Performing data backup and restore.
Moodle application Support:
- Provide technical support to students and faculty members.
- Make changes as appropriate to the look and style of Moodle through changes to coding/style sheets ensuring web accessibility standards are met where possible.
- Supports general day-to-day work running on Moodle, including creating and distributing user IDs and passwords, checking content consistency, collating statistics, creating and assigning courses and staff, providing support etc.,
- Conducting awareness workshops to the staff when required
