My client, a reputable bank in Kuwait is currently looking for a Head of Middle Office to join their team.
Job Title: Head of Middle Office
Location: Kuwait
Key Responsibilities:
The Head of Middle Office will be responsible for Middle Office functions. This will include, but not be limited to, the development and maintenance of consistent and appropriate risk reporting tools across the Group, the implementation, revision and updating of all Middle Office policies, processes and procedures, as well as assuming ownership of all new Middle Office projects and any other projects affecting and/or involving middle office functionality. Adherence to all the relevant regulatory requirements and environments is essential. -Ensures effective communication and alignment with Group Treasury and Group Risk senior management on all activities undertaken by the Middle Office.
Ensures all reconciliations are completed and issues are either resolved or escalated when necessary.
Provides independent oversight and approval for all manual system overrides (e.g. counterparty limits) and controls daily trade flow to pre-empt or minimize operational risk.
Ensures transactions traded by the Group Treasury are within approved trading limits and provides continuous monitoring and controlling of the treasury and investment activities across the Group.
Responsible for monitoring Group Treasury derivatives activity and ensures independent valuations are carried out regularly.
Is responsible for ensuring that daily analysis on positions (even within limits) is conducted to monitor trends or to look for trading anomalies and co-ordinates independent valuations and other analysis (including volatility of FX transactions, dealer errors, etc.).
Independent Front Office daily P/L production and reconciliations
Ability to work and co-ordinate activities with all relevant support functions of the Group e.g. Finance, Risk, IT
Qualifications:
Minimum 12 years of experience in middle office.
Bachelor Degree
GCC experience is preferred not a MUST
