The primary role of the Clinical Informatics Specialist will be to apply knowledge of Nursing and informatics to assist in the design, development and ongoing modification of computerized health care systems
Educate staff and assist in problem solving to promote the implantation of the Health care system (Cerner).
Core Responsibility :
• Analyze and interpret patient, nursing or information systems data to improve clinical services.
• Analyze computer and information technologies to determine applicability to nursing practice, administration and back office functions
• Design, develop, select, test, implements and evaluate new or modified informatics solutions, data structures and decision support mechanisms to support patients, health care professionals and their information management and human to computer and human to technology interactions within health care contexts
• Develop or deliver training programs for health information technology, creating operating manuals as needed.
• Develop or implements policies or practices to ensure the privacy, confidentiality or security of patients information
• Develop, implements or evaluate health information technology applications, tools processes or structures to assist nurses physicians and other providers a with data management
• Identify, collect record or analyze data that are relevant to the nursing care of patients
• Works with the hospital leadership to evaluate current workflow redesign and lead the hospital in process improvement activities that maximize the use of applications.
• Responsible for active engagement with end-users in areas such as workflow analysis and design, creating and delivering training classes, serving as a Super-user to assist with the tailoring of system features to meet end-user requirements, and providing post go-live support to ensure end-user satisfaction. The position will require cross-functional collaboration with physicians, clinicians, operations, quality, IT and other departments to insure a successful rollout of implementation of client’s physical sites.
