POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for recurring and special activities associated with interior and exterior (low/high tension) electrical systems. Maintains, repairs, and overhauls all associated systems, equipment, and switch gears. In addition, plans, organizes, directs, inspects, and evaluates above activities as well as determines solutions to technical problems.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Supports the maintenance, servicing, and repair of low/high voltage switch gear, overhead and below surface electrical distribution systems, exterior lighting systems, fire detection and alarm systems and other associates equipment.
2. Maintenance and repair of various interior and low/high tension exterior wiring systems.
3. Initiates, receives, processes, and maintains prescribed work documentation, records, and reports. Inspects work in progress and completed work for quality.
4.Requests, receives and controls material, parts and products provided for work assignment.
5. Responsible for the control of assigned work.
6. Duties include inspection of facilities, planning, estimating, coordination, and scheduling work assigned or required for facilities upkeep.
7. May be required to provide and conduct emergency services and repairs after normal duty hours. Observes, enforces, and complies with all safety/environmental standards.
8. Responsible for maintaining assigned property.
9. Performs other duties or assignments as required.
10. Maintains strict compliance with all safety requirements to include use of personal protective equipment.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
1. Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction and other structures. Materials used include: wire, cable, glands, breakers, switches, relays contactors, capacitors, resistors, conduit, cable trays, lugs, splice kits and terminals.
2. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Equipment used include: meters, testers, data recorders, drills, saws, hand tools, picks, shovels,
ladders, scaffolding and man lifts.
