1. Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting standards and principles in recording and processing accounting transactions
2. Ensure all accounting records are kept accurately in line with regulatory requirements
3. Oversee the daily accounting activities required to maintain the general ledger and other balances and accounts
4. Ensure the books of accounts are compiled every end of month and at the end of every financial year
5. Ensure fixed assets register is managed and maintained with strict adherence to the relevant procedures and performs a physical verification of the fixed assets on an annual basis
6. Ensure timely reporting of all financial information and preparing financial statements and ad hoc financial reports on a periodical basis
7. Update job knowledge by being aware and in compliance with new local and international regulations and standards
8. Ensure all journal entries have been posted to the general ledger and ensures that closing procedures are met
9. To be the point of contact with the Internal Auditor to monitor recommendations and provide feedback to the Internal Auditor within the department and cross functionally
10. To compile the consolidated financial statements for the automotive group
11. Plan, manage, coordinate and implement the year-end closing processes and procedures for the assigned accounting records
12. Review supporting documents related to expenses and revenues realizations prior to any posting of expenses or revenues
13. Assist in the development, review and improvements of accounting, computer systems and processes
14. Ensure provision updation in the General Ledger on monthly basis.
15. Ensure Foreign Exchange accounting as per IFRS
