We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Nurse to join our team in Kuwait. As a School Nurse, you will be responsible for providing medical care and support to students, ensuring their health and well-being while at school. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric nursing and be knowledgeable about common childhood illnesses and injuries. The School Nurse will work closely with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to promote a safe and healthy school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct medical care and first aid to students and staff members in case of illness or injury.
- Assess and monitor the health status of students, including conducting health screenings and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, following appropriate protocols and procedures.
- Develop and implement individual health plans for students with chronic illnesses or special healthcare needs, in collaboration with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals.
- Educate students, parents, and staff members on health-related topics, such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate emergency care, including CPR and first aid.
- Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to develop and implement health policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized medical clinic, ensuring that medical supplies and equipment are readily available.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on current healthcare practices and trends.
Preferred Candidate:
- Communication skills in Arabic and English.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in pediatric nursing or a related field.
- Knowledge of common childhood illnesses, injuries, and developmental milestones.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
