Objective
Provide one on one Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), patient education in individual and group sessions. Develop evidence –based educational material for patients and the public
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ nutritional needs, develop and implement therapeutic diets, evaluate and report (document) results
- Confer with physicians and other health care providers in order to coordinate medical and nutritional needs of patients
- Counsel individuals, groups, family members and caretakers on nutritional practices designed to prevent disease and promote good health
- Assist in conducting nutritional education group sessions for patients
- Develop evidence – based nutrition educational material
- Assist in supervising cooking classes when required
- Assist in developing and implementing at least one departmental project or service and carry out departmental duties as assigned and agreed upon
- Any other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Head of Unit
