As such we are looking for Mechanical Fitters to join our Production Team.
As a Mechanical Fitter with Kuwait Steel you duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Carrying out preventive, predictive, breakdown and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment, instruments and facilities whether the plant is on operation or shutdown.
- Preparing all necessary spares and performs off-line repair works of equipment & components.
- Supporting maintenance objectives of optimum equipment reliability, availability and safety at minimum cost through excellent workmanship and efficient use of spare.
- Supporting Production goals to meet tonnage targets & produce superior quality reinforcing bar.
- Performing duties assignment to Centralize Maintenance Department in any plant of Kuwait Steel.
- Repairing damaged or defective equipment, assemblies and sub-assemblies in the whole plant like gearboxes, air blowers, compressors, overhead cranes, centrifugal pumps, sump pumps, various rollers and gear-motors using wrenches, hammers, spanners, specialized tools and instruments during breakdown and mill shutdown
- Performing preventive maintenance activities like periodic servicing, cleaning, bolt tightening of binding machines, cold shear, overhead cranes, condition-based/tonnage based replacement of knives, push rods, troughs, rollers, conveyors, cylinders, wire ropes, bearings and others.
- Performing maintenance activities during roughing change, size change & mill breakdown when needed.
- Attending breakdowns and minimizing delays and un-planned shutdowns and conducts delay analysis
- Reconditioning all hydraulics and pneumatic cylinders using applicable repair kits.
- Maintaining overhead cranes by condition-based replacement of wire ropes, wheels and brake elements and fixed-time servicing of the cranes moving, rotating parts
- Aligning machines and equipment using precision instruments, i.e. SKF Laser alignment tool, dial gauge indicator, vernier calipers and micrometers
