To perform a variety of activities to lubricate & service all equipment in order to maintain their proper operation & avoid unnecessary downtime or equipment damage. Assists Senior Mechanical Fitters in carrying out Check list, preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment, facilities, tools and instruments whether the plant is on operation or shutdown. Prepares spares and off-line repair of machines, equipment and components. Supports maintenance objectives of optimum equipment reliability, availability and safety at minimum cost through excellent workmanship, reduction of delays and efficient use of spare. Supports Production goals to meet tonnage targets & produce excellent quality rebars.
Pulls out and replace various types of flexible and rigid couplings of DC Drive Motors, cooling bed drive shaft and various rotating parts
Fabricates and installs water, hydraulic and pneumatic piping, components and fittings
Maintains, repairs and safekeep tools and instruments
Adheres to preventive maintenance lubrication schedules, determines and arranges for needed materials and supplies to complete each duty including type of grease/oil and prioritizes greasing work to ensure timely completion
Manual lubrication and bearing temperature reading in every shift for all Roughing Roll bearings and other equipment according to lubrication schedule and to established procedure using pneumatic or manual grease pump
Inspects grease pumps and monitors grease level of the centralized grease system
Performs weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, semi-annual and annual lubrication of all mill equipment, overhead cranes and all other machines
Oiling of all chain conveyors every roughing roll change
Fabricates and replaces damaged hoses and corroded or leaking grease pipelines and distributors of centralized grease system
Performs inventory of all lubricating materials to determine stocking levels, requisition replenishment and inform Shift In-Charge of types and quantities of hazardous materials on site
Maintains log and records of grease lubrication, oil changes, samples taken, etc. to identify potential problems and for future reference
Performs other related duties as directed by Shift In charge & Sr. Mechanical fitter
To maintain good housekeeping standards throughout his section and ensures that safety regulations are carried out. Ensures and Evaluate all Metal scrap segregated and set in proper location and discord as per Company Environment policy
