The Organization:
- Our client is a large private hospital in the state of Kuwait. Their dedication towards development and growth is reflected in the ongoing expansion.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Director of Nursing shall be responsible for strategic planning and setting direction of the department and ensuring operational excellence. She has Board level responsibility for professional nursing and all other staff under her department and provides strong leadership across these professions, encouraging innovation, creativity and strategic thinking about service provision. This position will perform in accordance with overall hospital policies, accepted professional and medical ethics standards.
Major Responsibilities:
- Actively contributes to the hospital vision and mission;
- Is aware of hospital/department/individual balance score card and works towards achieving them;
- Actively participates in hospital wellbeing practices and hospital/departmental meditation sessions;
- Is aware of infection control practices, fire safety, safety and risk management programs and policies of the hospital;
- Participates in the development of the department Strategic plan, goals and objectives in conformance with the overall strategic plan of the hospital;
- Leads and manages the Nursing, Homecare, CSSD, Laundry and Transportation departments. Ensures all departments deliver high standard of services;
- Responsible for development, implementation and overseeing of departmental policies and monitoring the implementation of hospital/departmental policies and processes;
- Maintenance of accurate and complete documentation as per hospital standards;
- Prepare and present the quarterly BSC repor;
- Ensures the timely submissions of the following: Department Strategic Plan/Action Plan, Monthly progress report through balance score card, Quarterly report, Manpower plan and hiring requisition forms;
- Participates and contributes to the recruitment and selection process;
- Develops, reviews, updates and approves Job Descriptions;
- Develops departmental orientation program for the new joiners;
- Chairs, documents and submits monthly departmental meetings report to DGM.
- Ensures adequate staffing in the department;
- Acts a point of contact in conflict situations and conducts counselling and disciplinary sessions to department staff for lapses;
- Develops and implements monthly professional development activities in the department through: Continuous Nursing Education Programs, lectures & case presentations
- Solves patient complaints and incident reports promptly;
- Ensures adherence to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards;
- Follows policies and procedures governing the handling of confidential information
