SGM, Treasury plans, directs and controls the Group's treasury function in order to support the corporate strategic growth plans of the Group and offer state of the art treasury solutions aligned with the business needs.
Responsibilities:
Strategic:
1. Formulate the Group's treasury strategic plans and budgets, identifying the long term direction for the treasury function in order to support the companies’ business plans.
2. Identify the strategic trends in the business and treasury field and ensure alignment with and implementation of best practices to set a state of the art treasury function across the Group.
3. Participate in due diligence in order to assess the treasury and currency implications for mergers and acquisitions and recommend solutions.
4. Participate in discussions related to the Group’s funding/leveraging and relay the vision of the Group to both shareholders and financial institutions.
Operational:
1. Design the Group’s FX policy and ensure proper implementation throughout the year in order to eliminate currency risk and achieve efficient hedging. Update the policy as and when needed.
2. Identify FX risk from cash flows and analyze the critical timing for executing the hedges utilizing spot, forwards and derivative transactions.
3. Develop cash flow models in order to maintain balanced cash position by currency as per the cash flow plan and as per the Group policy in order to minimize exposure to currency fluctuation risk.
4. Draw the cash flow plan to identify short term and long term funding business needs in coordination with trading and finance department.
5. Recommend investment strategy and tactics for excess cash in order to maximize return. This includes both short-term (fixed deposits) and long-term (Sukuks) investments.
6. Formulate and direct implementation of cash flow, guidelines, standards and practices in order to cover short and long term business funding needs while ensuring all business obligations are met.
7. Manage all relations pertaining to Banks and oversee the facilities both locally and internationally. Recommend, establish and maintain facilities to ensure the Group has sufficient lines to meet all the business requirements.
8. Research, analyze and interpret financial, economic and legislative data in order to evaluate and advise on the impact of new regulatory actions, such as new laws and regulations, economic trends, and Group’s ability to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
9. Issue, administer and control the treasury department expense budget to contribute to a cost effective business operations.
10. Report periodically on the treasury department and the treasury function performance.
11. Maintain knowledge of developments and trends and best practices in the area of treasury management function in order to assure they are incorporated in the future treasury systems of the Group.
12. Implement the roll-out of the Treasury Management Software for the Group.
People Management:
1. Plan and control staffing and development of the business unit or department staff to ensure effective operations of business unit/department function and provide for continuity of managerial and specialized skills.
2. Review the performance and potential of individual staff members and make/approve decisions relating to treasury employee matters, such as appointment and termination of staff, promotions and salary adjustments, disciplinary action, succession planning, development plans, etc...
3. Ensure increasing levels of employee satisfaction and improve the efficiency of manpower.
4. Make requisite attempts to handle all grievances raised by subordinates in a prompt and effective manner.
Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports and presentations.
Document and maintain records of activities and process workflows on internal communication portals.
Adhere to Al-Sayer Group policies and health and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
