Primary Accountability:
Reporting to the CIO, the Application Supervisor plans all application related activities and coordinates and collaborates with other departments on clinical- and business-related projects. The application supervisor main goal is to ensure that both applications and its third-party software integrations remain maximally functional and secure.
Major Duties:
- Responsible for leading and managing multiple cross-functional work teams relating to the development of innovative Health Information system (HIS) and clinical and business application solutions that achieve successful performance goals.
- Ensure service contracts renewals, creating new contracts and finalize contract internal negotiations with concerned departments.
- Overseeing project plans to ensure milestones and project deliverables are met.
- Develop working knowledge of clinical informatics systems and business processes and be able to identify process improvement initiatives and targeted opportunities for improvements in the application.
- Provides analytical, technical, and problem resolution with clinical information as it relates to the end-user (clinical/provider) accessibility, usability, workflow/processes, policies and procedures.
- Manage and coordinate the development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects.
- Develop the change management procedures and protocols for the department.
- Create and maintain all clinical informatics policies and procedures for all assigned applications, and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications.
- Communicates all necessary application changes, enhancements, and procedures to all necessary internal department teams.
- Monitors and manages team adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for planning and ensuring professional development initiatives are met within the team.
- Participates in the development and execution of the clinical integration and improvement strategies.
- Oversees the implementation and use of the clinical and business information systems.
- Evaluate existing systems and make recommendations to improve functionality.
- Maintain knowledge and provide subject matter expertise on all clinical and business applications.
- Monitor all workflow of clinical processes and monitor all business functions and maintain records of all design and analyze processes.
- Analyze and recommend enhancements to clinical processes and monitor all business functions and coordinate with various teams and maximize working of all processes.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the CIO
