- Manage and lead the entire Engineering Department efficiently & effectively by providing guidance and direction to subordinates in accordance with project requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of all underground utilities
- Ensure that all drawings produced for all disciplines are well coordinated and presented according to procedures and client requirements.
- Represent design team in meetings with consultant engineers, third party agencies, construction project engineers, professional and technical groups and sub-contractors regarding project activities.
- Represent design team in negotiating/coordinating timely approvals of design and technical submittals with Consultant.
- Prepare, update and follow up Design Schedules for different disciplines including Man-hour Comparison statements & submission of drawings.
- Ensure submission and timely despatch of the as built drawings, received from site and to prepare materials quantity take offs according to job requirements.
- Prepare and update a detailed library of electronic and hard copy files for completed and ongoing projects.
- Advise on technical issues related to Design & Construction matters, in order to meet specific project requests.
- Coordinate with the heads of Projects/ Departments in meeting Engineering support requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate drawings.
- Ensure effective management & utilization of time for personnel.
- Maintain a comprehensive technical library in order to meet specific customer requirements.
- Develop designs from project specifications.
- Allocate, prioritise and check work of a team of Design Engineers.
- Check and evaluate design and material specifications for project.
- Prepare and check material data sheets and material take off reports
- Document, record and report on meetings, progress of jobs and construction completions from design & validation reports from Project Engineers.
- Incorporate feed back from projects and customers for design clarification and modifications during the development and construction project phases.
