POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications Engineer is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the Land Mobile Radio System (LMRS), and for the management and support of Land Mobile Radios
Major Responsibilities:
- Writing, troubleshooting, and installing codeplugs for Motorola P25 radios.
- Install LMR base stations, repeaters, mobile radios, and antennas.
- Provide procurement, installation, operation and maintenance services for all LMRS equipment, hardware, components, software, spare parts, licenses required for a Wide Area/Local Area LMR system.
- Responsible for radio programming and installing software updates when required.
- Responsible for vehicle radio installations and repairs.
- Responsible for reprogramming radios, over the air rekey (OTAR), and troubleshooting all associated equipment.
- Submit all weekly and monthly reports as required.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
