Responsible for managing the Commercial, Operational and Administrative task of the Marine Department with a view to ensure that the department is delivering quality assured service to clients across the industry and the business objectives set by management are met.
The jobholder shall track and monitor developments and trends in the market to develop products / services that are responsive to the market demands.
This position should involve ensuring QMS standards are adhered to consistently in all operational activities, monitoring the required operational excellence in Marine & Government Services department of Kuwait and Iraq offices in order to meet and exceed the expectations of the customers. He will ensure utilisation of all standard operation procedure and ensure accurate and effective operational and commercial information flow.
Revenue Generation: Prepare, plan sales strategies and implement them with a view to achieve the Annual Budget of the department . Incumbent will monitor local sales activities including liaison with Global sales and make sales visits to clients overseas with a view to boost sales. Gather market intelligence, scrutinize VMRs, market leads and to convert this lead into new business to increase market share.
Operations Excellence: Ensure the required operational excellence and clean audits as per the Inchcape QMS.
Business Development. Sourcing and acquiring new clients, maintaining good business relationship with current pool of clients, establishing marketing/sales campaigns in liaison with Group Commercial team in order to identify new leads and enhance business for the location. Management of offshore projects in coordination with Country Commercial Manager cultivating and nurturing prospects in order to ensure sustained growth, contributing to the development of strategies that will help to achieve the company’s mission and core objectives.
Liaison with Service Providers: Liaise, monitor and control all activities of the Service Providers, Freight Forwarders, Ship Chandlers and related Operations staff to ensure meeting all stages of Internal/External Customer’s established schedule
Leadership. Ensure the effective achievement of Marine Services departmental objectives through the leadership of these teams – allocating resources, setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximise the performance of the department
Monthly and Annual Reporting of Operations. Providing input into monthly and annual functional reporting of Marine Operations, which covers Analysis of Port Calls, DA Analysis, Open Voyages, Pre-funding Review, Data Integrity, PALM, POPDA, QMS, etc.
