- Responsibilities:
- Work closely with buyers and other merchandisers to plan product ranges.
- Work and communicate with buyers, suppliers, stores, and distributors.
- Ensure that stores, shelves or websites are stocked with the right types and quantities of products.
- Managing budgets (display, arrange, price, and rotate products in-store).
- Optimize sales volume and profitability by identifying profitable lines and bestsellers (Predicting sales and profits).
- Negotiating quantities and delivery time-scales.
- Supervising and training junior staff.
- Monitor store inventory based on sales and intake (Managing levels and distribution of stock).
- Managing stock details.
- Maintain store shelves by removing dated or damaged products.
- Coordinate with stores to handling supply/production problems as they arise.
- Set stock promotions/price reductions as appropriate.
- Assess sales performance of different ranges.
- Make recommendations for promotional strategies using sales and pricing data.
