EY Teacher aim is to motivate children and imaginatively use resources to help them learn. Provide a safe and secure environment for them to develop their social and communication skills, while recording observations and summarizing their achievements.
Day-to-day tasks may include:
Instruct children (normally up to 5 years of age) in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for child development.
Leading on and providing high quality early learning environments, as well as working alongside parents, colleagues and other professionals to improve outcomes for young children.
Supporting children's development and learning through planned play activities and tasks to develop their language, literacy and numeracy skills.
Encouraging co-operation and promote positive behavior.
Making sure children are safe at all times.
Supervise and mentor other staff, teaching assistants and volunteers.
As well as working with the children, you will:
Lead on planning, preparation and effective implementation of curriculum.
Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Organize and label materials, and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their ages and perceptual skills.
Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities.
Select, store, order, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.
Liaise with parents and care giver about their children’s development.
Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians, and child development specialists.
Organize and attend meetings.
Be committed to ongoing professional development and attending training
Skills
Have a recognized teaching qualification, College or University Degree.
Speak excellent English (any additional language is a plus).
