The Role:
The Senior System Engineer, Infrastructure Services role is to strategically design and implement in-house infrastructure systems and architectures that support core organizational functions and assure their high availability. This includes planning and lifecycle management, integration and standards as well as overall ongoing systems management around availability, performance, and capacity, security to drive efficient and effective IT systems to meet the business needs. In addition, the Senior System Engineer provides technical leadership across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level.
Requirements:
- Degree in Business Management, Computer Science, IT Management or comparable technology / engineering discipline
- 10+ years of relevant IT experience, preferably handling Cloud/ Technology/ Security Architecture roles in complex organization(s) aligned with Infrastructure & Technology domain
- Strong experience of deploying public, private and hybrid cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) in complex environments
- Experience of various cloud migration strategy of existing workloads (e.g. re-platforming, re-deployment, lift & shift, X2V)
- Experience building and scaling High-Traffic Web Applications
- Solid background on Linux / Unix Systems
- Good Knowledge on Oracle, Azure and Amazon web services ecosystem
- Proficiency on Configuration Frameworks such as Ansible
- Expertise with one or more modern programming languages : Python , Go
- In-depth knowledge of servers, storage, networking, monitoring, management and governance of technology platforms
- Certification in a popular EA framework (e.g. TOGAF or Zachman) is desirable
- Experience of Retail industry is desirable and client-side lead consulting/advisory experience will be an advantage
- Specialism in given domains, but good understanding of other business domains too from a big picture standpoint
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
- Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks effectively and efficiently with a high level of quality in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to deliver consistently on time-based commitments in high-pressure environments.
