The Senior Network Specialist oversees and supports the organization's network system. This role is responsible for implementation and administration of network hardware and software, including maintenance and integration of corporate WAN, LAN, and computer architecture. This role works hand in hand with the Network Architect on projects that improve network architecture, design, and security.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of business issues and goals in order to provide appropriate technical solutions
- Assess current and future network needs and perform capacity planning analysis
- Design network architecture
- Develop and document the configuration details necessary to support the installation of the network and network management systems, including rack layouts and patch cable installation details
- Oversee planning, documentation, implementation, integration, and migration of existing network and communications infrastructure
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations
- Deliver solutions to the network management team for proactive management
- Utilize network performance monitoring tools to identify and analyze impairments that may affect services
- Continually assess network technology and engage in research and development team to bring new solution that helps in better productivity and cost reduction
- Prioritize workloads and manage customer expectations
- Perform end-to-end trouble isolation and repair on physical and logical layer; test and sign-off of systems after installation
- Devise action plans on more complex issues, as well as oversee the execution of these plans
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Define security requirements and perform investigation of security breaches
- Take part in audits, both internal and external
- Understand and adhere to current IT standards, policies and processes
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Certified - Routing and Switching
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE7)
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a related field with experience in routing and switching; at least 3 years' experience in Next Generation Firewalls; at least 2 years' experience leading a team
- Proven experience in producing network designs, testing plans, and thorough documentation is essential
- In-depth knowledge in routing and switching design and deployment (BGP, OSPF, STP, etc.)
- Experience in security technologies such as Firewalls, NGFW, UTM, AV, etc.; excellent knowledge of Next Generation firewalls deployment, configuration, and management
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA firewalls, and FortiGate NGFW
- Knowledge and understanding of Cisco switching and routing, load balancing technologies, maintaining and managing GSS/GSLB infrastructure for large organizations
- Knowledge and understanding of Hyper-V SCVMM, VMware
