The Events Security Supervisor will be part of a specialist team who will coordinate the delivery of live entertainment and events. He will provide support to the Head of Events in the implementation of venue and event related, health, safety, compliance, licensing and fire management strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls.
- For all events, liaise with the Event Coordinator – Event Operations, Event Owners and Organisers to identify their health, safety and security requirements and complete ‘Risk Assessments’ for all event related activities and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce risk were required.
- Specific event related safety and security activities will include; undertaking risk assessments, liaising with Local Authorities and the Emergency Services with regard to any unique aspects of a particular event, securing qualified third-party suppliers of services etc., and managing health, safety and security of events on the day.
- Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
- Develop robust policies and procedures for the successful delivery of health and safety “best practice” for any event within the Arena and lead the development of a quality led approach to event and venue health and safety operations and documentation.
- Ensure the compliance of every event with all insurance, legal, health and safety obligations in cooperation with the Event Coordinator – Event Operations.
- Proactively handle any arising health, safety and security issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems.Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.
- Keep comprehensive records of all incidents, inspections and accidents and produce statistics for the Arena Management team.
- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation.
- Ensure all health and safety equipment is installed and maintained safely.
