• Ensures adherence to generally accepted accounting standards and principles when recording and processing accounting transactions
• Oversees the daily accounting activities required to maintain the general ledger and other balances and accounts
• Supervises petty cash payments and the replenishment of petty cash
• Directs and reviews accounting entries such as cash reconciliations, accounts receivable transactions, fixed asset activities, payroll, accounts payable transactions, etc
• Reviews supporting documentation related to expenses and revenue realizations prior to positing of expenses or revenues
• Preparing cheques as required
Skills:
• Extensive experience and rational judgment and exceptional attention to detail and follow-up skills
• In-depth knowledge of accounting systems and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Familiar with financial ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar
• Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely manner
• Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and relevant software applications
