The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design and design review of electrical systems according to client specifications, as well as testing, evaluating and further developing system components.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide design services for electrical systems which includes but not limited to design works, design review and design management
- Provide technical support for ongoing projects and carry out the necessary supervision of execution when required
- Check and compare all contract drawings with shop drawings, specifications, and BOQ to ensure compliance
- Prepare general specifications for all kinds of electrical works (low tension and high tension) and fire alarm systems
- Perform technical evaluation of electrical systems, products, components, and applications; confirm system and component capabilities
- Study customer requirements and provide solutions and execution
- Modify installed fixtures, equipment in building/warehouses to suit new technology and save cost on operation; check new fixtures' quality such as but not limited to electrical components in main switch board, distribution board, switch fuses, light fittings, cables, generators, automatic transfer switch, fire alarm panels, emergency lights, uninterruptible power supply, etc.
- Provide lighting design and calculations
- Maintain standards in accordance with Kuwait regulations
- Provide technical guidance to site personnel and technicians.
- Prepare check lists for electrical works
- Make sure all as-built documents are checked and available at any time
- Maintain all approvals from government authorities in one safe location
- Maintain product database; keep price lists for regularly required items updated
- Daily visit and follow up on all ongoing projects in all locations
- Submit daily and monthly reports for all electrical projects
- Enforce safety rules at all times and report non-compliance from contractors
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer license, required
- Master of Science, an advantage
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation, an advantage
- Minimum 10 years of experience as lead design engineer for corporate commercial projects
