The Engineering team of Agility Logistics Parks (ALP) is in need of an Environmental Engineer with extensive experience designing, planning, and carrying out engineering duties that ensure the company's full compliance with environmental standards. This role will be responsible for the development of technical solutions to environmental issues, including the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards through the application of standards from various environmental engineering sub-disciplines
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Support/Project Management
- Develop, coordinate and manage environmental protection programs and projects, assigning and evaluating work
- Develop proposed project objectives and targets, and report to management on progress
- Provide technical-level support for environmental requirements and advise on environmental policies and standards to ensure regulatory applicability
- Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs
- Inspect facilities and programs in order to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Assess the existing or potential environmental impact of land use projects on air, water, and land
- Assist in budget implementation, forecasts, and administration in relation to environmental requirements
- Provide environmental engineering assistance in network analysis, regulatory analysis, and planning or reviewing database development
- Liaise and collaborate with local authorities (ministries, municipalities, etc.) and specialists/experts to address environmental issues and requirements
Reporting and Governance
- Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports
- Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures
- Maintain, write, and revise environmental quality-assurance documentation and procedures
- Inform and keep updating all relevant company employees and departments about environmental policies and standards by developing and presenting environmental compliance trainings or orientation sessions
- Conduct research and technical audits on environmental impact of project, analyze data and perform quality control checks
- Monitor progress and provide recommendations to achieve quality, sales, revenue and profitability goals
- Provide administrative support for projects by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general administrative duties
EDUCATION- Bachelor's Degree in environmental or other related engineering field
- Certified by the Kuwait Society of Engineers
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 7 years' experience as an Environmental Engineer
- Adept with quality assurance, documentation, and environmental standards/regulations/best practices
- Familiarity with local authorities and local environmental standards; established relationships would be a plus
