Job Purpose:
- To convert contracted agreements into policies / certificates / endorsements, and to ensure maximum output in minimum time frame with “nil” margin for errors.
- To uphold the company’s ethics, operating policies and conform with the department work instructions.
Primary Duties Performed:
- Identifies and understands the underwriting information supplied by the line manager and ensures any further information required are obtained or gathered from the relevant sources.
- Prepares policy documents / certificates of insurance and endorsements by entering appropriate and adequate underwriting information into the company’s IT System.
- Prepares accounting documents – debit / credit notes – in favor of clients / brokers, etc.
- Ensures correctness of the documents issued.
- Ensures policy documents (after a self-check) are placed for signature on the same day of issuance or maximum the next day.
- Maintains a filing system to keep a record of all documents issued.
- Ensures all documents issued during the previous week are dispatched to the appropriate parties.
- Prepares and submits “Premium Register” to the concerned manager assisting him to assess department’s performance during the previous week.
- Prepares closings in favor of co-insurers / re-insurers based upon the information supplied by the line manager.
- Prepare monthly reports.
- Assists in any other task as assigned by the manager in connection with the department's operational requirement.
Work and Business Contacts:
- Internal: Other concerned department staff.
- External: Clients, and any other concerned parties of business interest.
